Lynx Vilden walks a path that used to be natural to all of us, but for most people no longer is.

She has explored the natural environments and indigenous cultures of arctic, mountain, and desert regions from Hudson Bay to the Kalahari desert. She has lived in a Sami village in Scandinavia, in the deserts of Arizona and New Mexico, in the Rocky Mountains of Montana, and the North Cascades of Washington. She has been practicing and teaching primitive living skills in both the United States and Europe since 1991.

She is probably most known for her Four Seasons Prehistoric Projects and the Living Wild school bringing others to live this way for extended periods of time.

Karin grew up as a pretty wild –animal loving- child. Trying to tame horses (and cows), befriending geese and letting the whole flock of 10 to shit her parents house, or collecting abandoned bird’s eggs and trying to hatch them until they started rotting… It marks a way of thinking and doing that she still has.

Nowadays Karin is focused on the wonderful world of natural crafts and ancestral skills. After learning about the Sami people in her early twenties, she joined a Sami family in Kautokeino (Norway) for a couple of months in wintertime. There the seed was planted to really expend her knowledge about making stuff from natural available materials.

Karin now works for a prehistoric museum in the Netherlands, ‘het Hunebedcentrum’. Her job consists of organizing events, teaching a broad variety of skills to the public and staff. She also runs the ancient clothing department and makes reconstructions for the exhibition.

To sum it up - Karin is in for a lot of outdoorsy and prehistoric fun and loves teaching you all about it!

Mathias grew up in southern Funen in Denmark where he spend almost all of his free time in nature. He has always been fascinated by animals and their varying roles in natures ecosystems and wondered about his own role in it.

He has been hunting with his dad since the age of 6 and as soon as he turned 16 he got his own hunting license as well. Naturally, one of his main interests within primitive skills is hunting and fishing - “not because I enjoy killing, but because that to successfully harvest an animal, you need to understand your prey. You need to know what they eat, where like to sleep, when they move and why they move”. As such, Mathias has had a lifelong passion for tracking, spear fishing, and archery as well as animal behaviour.

In his day-to-day life Mathias studies biology at Århus University with a major in behavioral wildlife ecology.

This is how I like to learn and teach letting the materials, surroundings, plants, stones, and animals do as much of the talking as possible.

Steven teaches traditional sailing on wooden ships at the Fosen Folk school in Norway, he builds replica Stone Age structures in his native Netherlands and shares a multitude of other skills including natural tanning, woodworking, fishing, wild edibles, permaculture design as well as being a clan builder and fire keeper.

Werner was born in Namibia and grew up on a bush farm. As a child he often walked in the bush with rifle and dog. After military service he worked as a game warden.

After moving to the north of Germany, he did some private studies in Archaeology and History at the University and roamed Northern Europe as a hobby Viking and Stone Age man, acting in museums and historic markets.

During this time he learned to make stone tools and now gives flint knapping courses in Germany, England and Namibia.

He also teaches bow making and bow shooting courses specialising in replicas of the north European Stone Age.

Sofie is a positive woman full of energy and adventures. She finds her inner-peace and connection to Mother Earth by skiing high mountains, swimming in cold water and absorbing the light from the low sun. She`s a mother of 5 children and love to play with kids and teach them everything that they would need to live a life in nature and in the circle around the fire.

Sofie has more than 25 years’ experience with traditional tanning of hides and making of clothes and gear in skin and leather. Since 2006 she has run courses in tanning and sewing in Finland and Norway, and she has a Master's degree in tanning with traditional methods. She is inspired by clothes and gears from indigenous people around the whole world. Especially she admires the beautiful craftsmanship of Inuit’s and their unique skills to make clothes and garments that keep warm and dry in arctic weather. It is of great importance to her to save the knowledge and art of cloth-making and tanning for future generations, and she spends time learning more from old people.

Together with her husband Roni they run the company “ULU of Norway” and make natural tanned and chemical-free outdoor clothes that fit modern people. Together they offer courses in tanning, leather-work and primitive living.

Roni grew up in the Finnish forest and has a strong passion for primitive living. For more than 15 years he has joined different wilderness-schools and projects to learn and practice skills that you need to live a life in nature. Roni has been a teacher and guide in “Naturliv” and ''Guardian-training'' courses in Sweden.

Roni is a positive man with thousands of visions and tons of love. He has a great impact on youth and children and enjoys playing and challenging them. With his calmness and self-confidence, he goes for the responsibility and masters the father-ship of 5 children. His strongest passion is to run a primitive school for children and youth where they can play free and learn from nature.

Roni is a professional tanner and skilled craftsman, and together with Sofie he runs the company “ULU of Norway''. His dream is to live a balanced life in the wilderness with his family and a clan.

Michael is a founder of ‘Human Keystone’ is an experienced Outdoorsman, Forager, Fisher, Hunter and primitive skills practitioner from Hastings. Through month long solo and group immersions into some of the last truly wild parts of Europe he has over the years developed deep kinship with the natural world.

Using skills as pathways, Michael has formed strong ropes of connection with plants and animals around him. Even though Michael has been trained by some of the best naturalists and ancestral skills practitioners in Europe, his teachings are strongly influenced directly from nature. His teaching style is unorthodox, ancestral as well as process rather than goal orientated.
